Volunteering Spotlight: Consulate General José Alberto Ortiz Artola

At Our Big Kitchen (OBK), we are proud to shine a spotlight on Consulate General José Alberto Ortiz Artola, a remarkable volunteer whose dedication and compassion have significantly impacted our community. He has been volunteering consistently throughout this year, selflessly giving his time and energy to help those in need.
Consulate-General of the Republic of Peru’s Journey
Consulate General José Alberto Ortiz Artola’s journey with OBK began in August 2024 when he decided to contribute his skills to support our mission to end food insecurity in Australia. Over the years, he has become an integral part of our volunteering team, always ready to lend a helping hand every Friday whenever he can and bring smiles to the faces of those we serve in the Sydney community.
Government Support
We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from local, state, and federal government officials who recognise the importance of our work and the invaluable contributions of volunteers like the Consulate-General of the Republic of Peru, Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, NSW Opposition Leader Mark Speakman, and many others. Their backing and sparing their time to volunteer have enabled us to expand our services and reach more people in need.

Message from OBK Founder, Rabbi Doctor Dovid Slavin
